Hemkund Sahib, formally known as Gurudwara Shri HemkundSahib is a pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. On May 20, the yatra is supposed to start. Children and seniors over 60 are not allowed to travel to Hemkund Sahib because to the seven to eight feet of snow that has fallen there.

Due to its religious importance and relatively higher elevation, staying in Hemkunt Sahib is prohibited. Tourist only accommodates at Ghagaria which is 2.2 km behind Hemkunt Sahib. You can also find some restaurants and food joints that serve the variety of cuisines.
